Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched plans for a new city within the Neom megaproject on the Red Sea coast that will be fully pedestrianised. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman has announced a revolution in urban living. “Today, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of NEOM, I present to you THE LINE.” A city of a million residents with a length of 170km that preserves 95% of nature within NEOM, with zero cars, zero streets and zero carbon emissions”.
Neom is the flagship project of Saudi Arabia’s post-oil diversification plan known as Vision 2030 that seeks to reduce its reliance on hydrocarbons. It is being overseen by the Public Investment Fund.
